Elizabeth Ann Roar

Elizabeth Ann Marshall Roar, 89, of Greenup, KY, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, peacefully in her sleep. Mrs. Roar was born February 22, 1936, in Panama City, Panama. She is the daughter of the late Rita Achura Marshall. Along with her mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie L. Roar; two daughters, Loretta Stevenson and Nina Roar; one son, Charles Roar; one brother, Charles Currier; four grandchildren, Robert Wiley, Kevin H. Wiley, Matthew Wiley and Erica Spears. Those who knew her best called her Betty or Spanish Betty. She was a homemaker most of her life, raising her eleven children. After her children were raised she went back to school, taking college courses and getting her SRNA certification. She loved taking care of others and continued to do so with her certification for many years, before retiring in her seventies. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved spending time with them. While spending time with her you could often hear her say jokingly, “go get me a switch”, knowing it would make everyone laugh. Some of her favorite activities were gardening, tending to the flowers she loved, visiting the beach and looking for shells. She was a devout woman who loved her church family and singing about the Lord. She loved animals of all kinds and left behind her little chihuahua, Princess. Strength, kindness and loving are just a few ways to describe her. Loved by so many, she will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten. Mrs. Roar is survived by her eight daughters, Debra Savvas, Rita Roar Grubb, Belinda Roar, Terry Fitzwater, Sheila Smith, Kayce Rowe, Jamie Fitch and Christy Roar; one son, Jimmie “JR” Roar; thirty-eight grandchildren, Larry Stevenson, Robert Stevenson, Krista Stevenson, Lynn Pentedemos; Harry Savvas, Julia Tucker, Sarah Tucker, Julie Davis, Savana Roar, Patty Demere, Matt Wiley, Charlene Wiley, Robbie Wiley, Michelle Furiato, Troy Brenner, Bradley Brenner, Brandon Brenner, Kayla Brenner, Jennifer Roar, Carl “CW” Isaacs, Nancy Roar, Sam Fitzwater, Ryan Fitzwater, Kyle Fitzwater, Jason Spears, Stephanie Roar, Brandy Case, Nikki Smith, Dylan Smith, Trevor Rowe, Trenton Rowe, Zakary Adams, Alex Adams, Priya Roar, MaKayla Lester, Austin Meadows, Ashtyn Meadows and Adon Roar; sixty-three great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren. A funeral service for Elizabeth Roar will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 1pm at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland with Pete Roar officiating. Burial will follow at Roar Cemetery in Wurtland, KY. Friends may visit from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home.
